CERAMIC RELIEF is a social art project at the asylum centres Sjælsmark and Avnstrup. The focus of the project is on the artistic, creative process, on community and on visibility. All residents at Sjælsmark wishing to take part in the collective clay workshops, have together modelled a series of reliefs. The reliefs have afterwards been glazed by the participants. Around 40 residents have so far contributed, and there will be a workshop at Avnstrup where more people can join.
The participants exhibit their works at local libraries, and the first exhibition is at Hørsholm Library. The ceramic pieces form a visual and beautiful decoration of the library, which is a highly important public space of our society.
After the exhibitions the ceramic reliefs will come to Avnstrup where they will be on display as a permanent outdoor decoration.
